A week in Tuscany
Here's a trip report of my recent holiday in small town Tuscany with my husband and friends. For those looking ideas outside of Florence, this may be of interest.

I wish I had some friends with a place in Tuscany!
Thanks for your trip report and photos. I am hoping to see some of those places next year when we go to Tuscany |
You are welcome :) I hope you enjoy your trip to Tuscany..it really is wonderful !

Wow - what fabulous photos! I am leaving for Tuscany with 5 girlfriends on the 19th os September and your pictures getting me so excited for our trip. We are doing a biking trip and adding a couple of days on. Thanks for sharing
|
@Sharyl : Thank you :) A biking trip in Tuscany sounds fantastic; the weather will be perfect (it was bit hot in August). You'll come back with loads of great pics too, can't quite help it, its all so beautiful ! Enjoy.

Loved your report Suja. We were in the same coffee bar in Arezzo last year. Thanks for sharing.
|
@bfrac : Glad you enjoyed it :) I went to read your account and enjoyed it tremendously. You never got to finish it?
|
Suja, Thanks for reading. Life and work piled up on me and got in the way. Maybe I will work on it this weekend for fun instead of working; I wasn't sure if anyone would still be interested.
|
@bfrac: You are a gifted storyteller, I am sure many would be interested to read your account. Do write up the rest of it !
|
loved your report, esp the photos that go along with the story ...
Thanks! (now off to read bfrac's - i think i'm addicted to these boards ... please, do not help!) |
@screen-name-taken : Thank you :) me too...once I start reading I can't stop..this is a dangerous forum for people who love to travel, you'll spend too much time online and then afterwards plot ways and means of getting to the places you read of :)
|
Suja, thank you, shukria, for your beautiful photos and descriptive captions!! I will be there --too briefly--in June. Arrezzo is now on the list of day trip "musts."
LOL re shopping and coffee stop for self-respecting tourists-: |
You are all so funny. I can relate to the addiction problem, screen name taken; I really missed the forum while I was off working so much. I promise to finish the "parade float" trip report and will have another installment in a day or two.

There are a couple of monasteries you can stay in at St. Bernard Pass (shown in your first photo). St. Bernard, Simplon and Chateau Verdun.

@CaliNurse : June next year? Lots of time to dream up more places to visit :) Tuscany is full of charm, you'll love it !
@Kybourbon : I have read about that..it would be lovely to stay up there and go walkabout, wouldn't it.. |
Thanks for your lovely report! I love Toscana!!
I just finished about about living in Montalcino....you may like to read it. It's called Bel Vino by Isabella Dusi. |
@Bailey : Thank you. I love reading traveller's tales so I'll look out for your book, thanks.
