I haven't been to Seville, but I have been to Marbella in the Malaga area. I wasn't that impressed with the beachy areas, but I did enjoy the day trips to Granada and Rhonda. I found Marbella to be touristy and quickly becoming overbuilt.

Seville definitely. It was our favorite part of Spain (saw Madrid, Seville, Ronda and Granada). We splurged and stayed at the Alfonso which was wonderful and love the shows, restaurants, gardens and palaces.

Given that you have a week, Granada might be worth a visit - the Alhambra gardens were wondeful and Granada itself was pretty exotic. We were lucky and got into the Parador in Granada which was wonderful and had a great restaurant even if you can't stay there. You could always leave your "big" luggage in Seville and just pack a backpack for an overnight in Granada.

what about for a group of mid to late twentysomethings looking to rent a villa for one week? which coastal town would you suggest (marbella, estepona, cadiz) for drinking, dancing, relaxing, swimmin, shopping.....
