A week in Provence
We are staying in a little house near Gordes Saturday to Saturday in June and I am finishing up the itinerary. Is this too much? We are renting a car
1. Arles/ Camargue/ Van Gogh 2. Wine tour in South Rhone 3. Villages/ Markets in the Luberon 4. Avignon/Palais de Papes 5. Drive to Cassis or Marseille or Cannes? 6. Villages/Markets in the Luberon Any spots that are not worth it on my list or something that you think we must see that I am missing. I am traveling with my husband, 16 year old son, and 25 year old niece. Thanks! |
When we stayed near Gordes a couple of years ago, we too thought we would take a trip to Cannes then I looked at how long it would take. Too long a day trip for us. As was the Camargue--although Arles was doable. The best part about the Luberon, is the Luberon. In other words, relax.

A lot of people, not necessarily me, like Aix. It has a nice centre ville.

Like SAB said, Cannes in not do-able. However, Cassis is. How about the Pont du Gard & Uzes.
Do you have my 27 page Provence/Cote d'Azur itinerary. We've vacationed for 34 weeks in that region. E-mail me at [email protected] if you would like a copy, and I'll attach one to the reply e-mail. I've sent it to over 3,000 people on Fodors. Stu Dudley |
SAB, yes as you can see I have not overstuffed our itinerary. Indeed, I want to relax. We will be in Paris the week before, and we will need some relaxation after that!
I am not sure about Cannes either - I just know we want to see the coast one day - I'm just not hot on the idea of Marseilles. |
Thanks Stu. I just sent you an email. :)
