A week in Paris

Is 7 days in Paris too long? I get to stay 7 days in any one hotel anywhere in Europe, and I'm thinking about Paris. Would I be better off picking another city?

Non, non. Une semaine a Paris, ce n'est pas trop long!!! In fact, this is the right amount of time to discover the main sites, walk around and take your time.

Perfect! For your 1st trip to Paris a week is great. We love Paris and have been there several times. You never get tired of walking the city, coffee at a cafe, people watching, eating great meals. Paris is one of our favorite cities in the world. I could talk about Paris; if you want more info E-Mail me.

Hi, Julie: Great that you can stay a week in Paris. Get acclimated to your surroundings and see a few monuments the first 2 days. Take a day trip on the train from Gare St Lazare to VERNON on your third day to Giverny to see Monet's home and flower garden and water lily ponds.Stay in Paris on the 4th day. Then on the 5th day, take another day trip on the train to either Versailles or the Loire. 6th day, stay in Paris, whatever. Just don't limit yourself to the Metro and the city -- there are great things to see and experience if you take the train out of the city. Great websites about France and Paris on the net as well. Best of luck, AND if you had an extra 3 days, I'd say take the TGV to Nice, and hang around there for awhile before flying home. Travel is easy, I have always been treated well by the French, and you'll have a great time.

A week in Paris to long???? My God, no!! It's hardly time enough there is SO much to see. You could spent a week just wandering the streets of the various arrondissements.
I spent a full month doing that last year and still wished I had more time. Forget about going to Nice (ugh!) as there is far more than enough to see in Paris to waste time doing to somewhere else (especially Nice....how dull and commonplace).

A WEEK IN PARIS WILL ONLY TITILLATE YOUR PALATE AND YOU'LL WANT TO RETURN AGAIN AND AGAIN. I SPENT 10 DAYS FOR MY BIRTHDAY (MY SECOND TRIP) AND STILL FELT I HAVE ONLY SCRATCHED THE SURFACE. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND NOT GOING TO VERSAILLES BUT GO TO VAUX LE VICOMTE NEAR MELUN VIA GARE ST LAZARE. VERSAILLES WAS BUILT BECAUSE LOUIS XIV WAS GREEN WITH ENVY WHEN HE WAS INVITED TO A HOUSEWARMING PARTY THERE. HE PROMPTLY HAD FOUQUET THROWN INTO PRISON; A JEWEL OF A CHATEAU. ENJOY!!!
