Try Ranieri, which is near the Spanish Steps just off the Via Condotti. The Italian-French cuisine is excellent: try the gnochetti alla parigina (feather-light dumplings with cheese sauce). Via mario Fiori 26, tel. 06/678-6505. Also try nearby El Toula with its welcoming atmosphere of a 19th-century country house. Via della Lupa 29b, tel. 06/687-3750. For a delicious lower-priced meal near the Steps, head for Tavernetta with its Sicilian and Abruzzi specialties. Via del Nazareno 3, tel. 06/679-3124. Have a great trip!

We stayed for 5 days last winter in Rome. We had wonderfull experiences at following places.
Ristorante CAMINETTO,Via del Parioli (near the Via del Corso).Wonderfull pasta, succulent desserts.
More trendy, non touristic, the real roman gatherplace with superb food and not expensive is the Ristorante IL FALCHETTO, Via dei Montecatini 12
a little excentred but its worth to take a cab.You
must eat their pasta "aux truffes"(truffles)white
or black truffels. And very affordable.Reservations are advised. Telephone number is 6791160.
Have a good trip and watch your weight! :)

have some Gelati, either from a street vendor or at
Tre Scalini. Sample the flavors.

One of our greatest meals was dinner overlooking the city of Rome at the top of the Hotel Eden by Via Veneto, a few blocks from the Spanish Steps. It was [ricey ($200 for two) but a once-in-a-lifetimer. Good luck.
