A Visit to Evora,Portugal
My wife and I will be visiting Portugal in Feb.-March for the fourth time and while there we would like to visit Evora for a few days.
In previous years we have found that a lot of places are closed for the season at this time of the year.
Has anyone visited there at this time of year, are most of the historic sights open,is it worth the visit and any good places to stay.
Hope someone can help in this matter.

Raymond, you will have no problems in Evora, everything is opened because many people visit it all year long. I recommend that you stay at the Pousada de Loios. It's lovely. Have a nice trip.

Evora is a lovely town with lots of places to stay. (Very inexpensive).
Do visit the Chapel of the Bones--to the right of the church as you come into the old town. (we had to hunt for it).

Enjoy!

Evora is a real treat. The Roman walls and plaza make it worthwhile. We stayed in a hotel outside the wall which was comfortable and inexpensive, but the posada is fabulous. Don't get caught on the many one way streets - driving in the pedestrian square is embassasing! The nearby Reguengos winery is great.
