A very good read - excellent sense of humor mixed with pretty good writing skills. I am not up on all the different forum sites and am curious: how many difference websites with forums like this and slowtrav.com are there out there that have a good size following like here on fodor.com? Anyone care to share other sites addresses?

This writing style seemed very familiar to me. Is it possible that the author is a professional? It sounds as if it was written by Lemony Snicket who is a children's book author. LS writes a series of books called "A Series of Unfortunate Events". The books are not about travel, but they are just as funny as this piece.

I've read heaps of Infotracks posts before on the Trafalgar & Insight discussion boards - he's very funny!

KJulie: I'm certain he's not a professional writer. He's very funny and very fluid, but his grammar and spelling are far too bad for him to be published in any reputable place without the serious intervention of an editor, and most pubs won't spend the kind of money it takes to edit his kind of material.
Nonetheless, the guy is a hoot. Never mind that he violated about every rule in the book about being a polite traveler.
