A train ride with a difference
Something a lot of visitors might not get the time for, but an experience to try if you think you've done everything before - a trip on a heritage steam railway, in this case the Watercress Line, which is easily reached by train from Waterloo.
Here's my account of it with some pictures and video: http://autolycus-london.blogspot.co....rain-sets.html |
That is neat about the staff in period clothes and children reenacting the evacuation.
I haven't ridden the Watercress Line, but have several others -- the Kent & East Sussex, the North Yorkshire Moors, the Romney, Hythe & Dymchurch and a couple of others. |
A steam train ride has been on my list of top things I'd like to experience. Thanks for posting!

Very nice report, Patrick. A more relaxing day out than some that are non-stop rushing around. And beautiful weather for the trip.
