You are so right about southern FL. It's also that way in southwestern Louisiana--cowboys and all . . . and the alligators! ;-)
Madison, I don't think I'd want a cracked one. But thanks for the heads up.

The 1.5 hour train ride to Florence was largely uneventful. Well, there was a little incident with that pickpocket, but he deserved to be heaved off the train.
Anyway, I had a good three hour nap in wonderfully appointed B&B, when a loud knock at the door announced the safe arrival of the LW. She made it into the room under her own power so I saw no need to tip the Bulgarian guy from DELT. Being in Italy is reward enough.
Good thing she was still groggy or there would have been hell to pay.
So we used up 100E of hot water in this tiny little shower that you could hardly .... . Well, you don't want to hear all that silly stuff so let's move to the real important things - like food.
So we got all duded up for a fancy sit down dinner at ZaZas or some such outdoor place in some little square behind a big church/market place.
Hey, what’s with all the Nigerians hawking knock off purses?
Well, we ordered up a storm of pasta and drank massive amounts of good old red house wine before walking arm in arm down the narrow, cobblestone streets, delighting in the ancient churches and impressive monuments being bathed in a wonderful night glow. I bought the LW flowers just because, and we enjoyed the music and church bells waffling through the soft night air before heading back to the B&B.
I’ll leave the rest to your wild indigestions. Being a cultured, refined gentleman, I don’t ever reveal too much about the personal lives of the very rich and famous.
However, from the strange looks we got at breakfast the next morning, those old walls must have been a bit thin and allowed some folks to get a new appreciation for tender love and devotion in a romantic, far away land filled with great beauty and many earthly delights!

OMG, I AM sleepy . . . I forgot to hit refresh! The latest installment was there all the time.
But I must admit, either some of the zing has gone out of Degas, too, or I better save this good stuff to read until tomorrow when I'm wide awake.

It really was a wonderful great trip that we greatly enjoyed.
The preceding little tale really was based on "a few" real life events. I'll give you some impressions of things we liked and disliked on Sunday.
Have a good evening - I'm off for a swim and then a long walk at the beach.

Hmmm, I am also stuck on gracie's polo players from Argentina. I haven't quite recuperated from Friday's World Cup match...ladies, are you watching! Oh my.
But can they compete with Degas' hairy back? That is the question.
