A simple question about Heathrow Connect

Can I buy tickets on the machine or the ticket office for the Heathrow Connect with my Visa credit card..or do I have to search for an ATM before ? Maybe it sounds stupid, but I don't want to have the pusher of the airport wheelchair going up and down the terminal, I suppose he/she will have better things to do :) I think I will be able to use ATM's at Paddington when we arrive.

yes - you can but Hex Connect tickets w/ a credit card. Since you have a European cc it will probably work in the machines, but there are also ticket windows.

Thanks a lot, janis !! :)

oops that should be " . . . buy Heathrow Connect . . ."

But you figured out what I meant :)

Because of the abundance of special fares for trains in the UK, I highly suggest you use a ticket counters. They'll find cheaper fares when you won't find on the machine. In the UK, using a ticket counter also won't cost you service fees (unlike some places like the Netherlands).

good point, rkkwan :) I'll take a look at the line..and if it is not too long, I prefer the ticket windows. I don't think they change the Connect price too much, though.

rkkwan, no savings for using a ticket window, no service fees for using machines

I am saying there are often fare specials that the ticket agent may know about, and are not available or apparent on the machine.

It's a general statement about taking the trains in the UK.

I am not saying there's a fee for using the machine, or a discount using an agent.

I understood rkkwan was trying to say that maybe there's some kind of cheaper fare not evident if you are not used to the machines and the person at the ticket counter would tell me about, I knew there were no savings ..it is already rather cheap LOL Thanks , Alan :)
