Careful, Macross. I would hope that he would warn all posters about this in an official way.

Yes, we have been sharing our official love notes from him. I got mine Monday. Some are worse than others I might add.

On an important note we are trying to find info about the Somme area. We will be driving to Reims and then Verdun, Saint Quentin area. I guess we will have to be sensible about where we drive. We will be in Paris a week later arriving on the 13th.
We are staying on the fourth floor I think but those rats beachside went into condos via the dryer vents. The first floor condos ducked taped them shut when not in use. I have a hospice client that lives on the 6th flloor and we are not telling her. I already packed ziplock bags for leftover food. I do feel bad for the restaurants, cafes and homes being flooded. We had fish in our front yard after last hurricane. The county are putting in new culverts and widening the canals in our neighborhood. France will have to address the flooding issue with climate change.

Definitive portrait of Paris rodents is Ratatouille, Oscar-winner for animated feature 2007 and big boxoffice earner. Scariest character was the food critic, of course, all too human..

For those interested, a group of rats is called in English a "Mischief" which is appropriate.

Male rats are called bucks, unmated females are called does, pregnant or parent females are called dams, and infants are called kittens or pups. A group of rats is referred to as a mischief.
Honestly, swarms of rats may be acceptable for Lagos or Calcutta, but not a city like Paris.

The real name for a bunch of rats is "Too many rats."

Just read where airbnb is giving French cities 13.5 million in taxes. That should stop the moaning about apartment rentals and help Paris buy some rat poison. I saw pictures of Angelina and her troop of kids following behind her. I did not see one rat in the pictures but Mrs. Maron was posing with her and have to ask if she wears a wig. Her hair was a bit lopsided.

How come the Pied Piper found rat extraction in Hamelin so simple? I always thought that Parisiens were creative, so am amazed that someone can’t take a tin whistle and lead the rats into the Seine. Or feed them bulk Nutella until they die of cardiac arrest.

I just wanted to report that I have been here a week and not seen a rat. It smells super bad in the metro so maybe they are dying but was super aware at night. There are these weird little boxes that look like traps here and there. I will say the garbage people are pro-active right now and have not seen any cans overflowing. Every night I hear the garbage truck going down our street to pick up so that helps. We were out late last night and no sightings. I have encountered the paper waving girls several times and the gold ring scam today. We had so many layers of protection last night at the Zenith. I had a very nice pat-down. They were quick but searched you good and your bags.

Found no rats in your bags?

Two more nights, hush! The water is down a bit. No rain much this week has helped, Valentine's evening the boats ran for the first time but we could not go under the Pont Neuf bridge as the levels were still high. Current is swift. We saw rescue boats flying down the river one day with dive gear on.

Maybe they were called to save a drowning rat.
