We had fish in our front yard after last hurricane. The county are putting in new culverts and widening the canals in our neighborhood. France will have to address the flooding issue with climate change.

I just wanted to report that I have been here a week and not seen a rat. It smells super bad in the metro so maybe they are dying but was super aware at night. There are these weird little boxes that look like traps here and there. I will say the garbage people are pro-active right now and have not seen any cans overflowing. Every night I hear the garbage truck going down our street to pick up so that helps. We were out late last night and no sightings. I have encountered the paper waving girls several times and the gold ring scam today. We had so many layers of protection last night at the Zenith. I had a very nice pat-down. They were quick but searched you good and your bags.

Two more nights, hush! The water is down a bit. No rain much this week has helped, Valentine's evening the boats ran for the first time but we could not go under the Pont Neuf bridge as the levels were still high. Current is swift. We saw rescue boats flying down the river one day with dive gear on.

Maybe they were called to save a drowning rat.
