A rival to the dreaded Angus Steakhouse?
Not a fan of high-end steakhouses anyway, but love a good bad review. This one is a masterpiece.
Love a bad review and this is good-bad one, but worried about someone who things frying chips twice is enough. Thrice is the right number but what can you say, it is the Guardian.
"Clearly the poor animal died twice: once in the slaughter house, once on the grill. . . Curiously, the menu announces in small print that items “may” be cooked to order. May? Only may? Don’t put yourself out, guys."

Meal for two, including drinks and service: £225>>
for this it would have to have been "the dog's bollocks" and not just the common or garden sort. and £9 for onion rings?? I counted the ones on the plate in the picture at the bottom of the article and it worked out at £1 per ring. |
Even in NYC, S & W barely makes the top 10 steak houses.
Sounds horrid. I hate when they take my plate and it still has food on it. Go away.
S&W has got to be on the LOW ten of steakhouses in the world.
Being a fan of a good onion ring, I think those look dire--similar to Iceland's finest.

mmm - not sure they are even that good. |
"Meal for two, including drinks and service: £225"
I don't care how good the steak was (or wasn't in this case), for the menu that they had, the price was a rip off. More fool anyone who pays for this type of chain food and to ask £65 for a 24oz ribeye, not the the most expensive cut, is a criminal rip off. |
