A question for Ira

Hi, Ira,

I tried the links for airfares you provided in another post. I was wondering if you (or any one else reading this) have used the www.1800flyeurope.com site to purchase airline tickets. The prices I saw there were much better than what I had been seeing other places. I am getting ready to purchase two tickets and would love to take advantage of these prices.

Thanks for any input!

Hi K,

We used them for our last trip to France.

No troubles. No problems.

They are part of AutoEurope.

I found that by the time the taxes and fees were added that 1800flyeurope/autoeurope was about the same price as the airlines. Of course, that is my experience on a couple of flights a few years ago. Also I had a problem with getting ff miles - the rep told me I would but afterward I found out the class of fare I got did not include ff miles - I had gotten them on other flights - so that is something to inquire about if it's an issue for you...

Thanks for answering me, Ira and Mara. I will certainly try and book thru them if the prices are as good as they appear. Even after adding the extra fees, they seem to be a good deal cheaper than what I was coming up with. I will let you know after I book my tickets.

Thanks again.

I used them for our last trip and they were great. The tickets were cheaper and the service was good. When our connecting flight was cancelled, they called to rebook me and my daughter almost a month before the airline called my husband who had used miles to buy his ticket. When they called, they said that they noticed that I was traveling with a child and they figured I probably didn't want to be booked on the much later flight since it was a long connection so they put me on a better flight.

I just checked 1880flyeurope.com for a flight (BOS to TLS) in mid-summer. With taxes etc. there appeared to be a difference of just over $400! I think I may go ahead a book today!

boy voyage!
