A Photographer in Paris

As a fine arts photographer I am interested in hooking up with another photographer who can take me around Paris. Any suggestions how to find such a person?

You can check "professional photographer Paris". There are a few.

search for "looking for photo classes in paris" I haven't tried the services referenced, but they look like a good start.

I'm a professional photographer, I'm part based in Paris, When do you intend to visit? Always possible to take a day to walk the city. What kind of shooting do you want to do? Stock? Street photography (if the latter, some special caution applies because of privacy laws) One piece of advice: you'll be more inconspicuous if you don't bring out the full pro gear, especially tripods. Some buildings, structures are copyrighted: security staff turn a blind eye to what they consider to be tourists photographing stuff, but a tripod and a big camera signals "pro" and then you run the chance of being stopped and questioned and asked to show what you shot.

I shoot a lot in the metro and in museums, on the street: always a good idea to have your rear LCD turned off, but I also mask the "on" light with tape, so people don't see I have my camera switched on.

If it's architecture you're after, it's also possible to go beyond the customary sights and shoot some really edgy modern stuff in Paris. It doesn't all have to be bicycles against a lamp post opposite a bistro at night. <wink>

Planning on being in Paris Sept 1-9. Would like to go beyond iconic sites. Architecture and landscape mostly.

I am not a professional photographer but I have shown in over two dozen exhibits, a msueum, and a few colleges.

Why do you want to shoot what others have shot, especially in a city like Paris? Unless you're on assignment isn't a combiantion of the discovery and talent that makes it unique?
