A Party Island

My grade is graduating in May, we are all really pumped up to go blow off some steam in an island on the Med. This is causing a little bit of tension between certain factions of the grade and what not. Anyway most importantly I was wondering if anyone had any information on the following islands.

Mykonos, Rhodes(we heard this is a family island, are we correct?) and Ibiza.

Any help will be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your help in advance.

Have you ever considered checking out a guidebook? Or doing a search above?

Yes Ibiza- especially if you like techno or similar music as clubs here are legendary as techno hotspots. Young folks from all over Europe flock to its beaches. Drinking age: 16. Mykonos, and its legendary nue beaches, is also party central, especially for gays - a gay mecca on par with Amsterdam.

The Greek island of Ios has long been known as "The Party Island." During the summer months it's overrun with 20-somethings (and older) from all over the world looking for a good time. I've been there when the party was a 24/7 Rave. May's a bit early for this level of insanity but you'll still be able to party 'till you drop!

Mykonos also has a very active party scene but it's more upscale and more directed to honeymooners and gays, although they're not the only ones there by far. Santorini is also a good party destination as well as one of the most spectacular islands in the world. Sorry, I don't know anything about Rhodes, and the only thing I've heard about Ibiza's scene is that it's expensive.

When my daughter was in college in the early 90ies, Ios was THE place to go; guess it's still the same?

the "partying" may not have kicked into high gear by May or even the beginning of June - check with Lonely Planet, the posters are a bit more -um- into that type of scene compared to a majority of posters here

Go, have fun, but behave yourselves. Remember you are diplomats of the USA :)

Go, have fun, and DON'T behave yourselves...we already have enough phoney "moralists" in the US as it is even if you aren't from the US!
