A nice 4 star hotel in the champs elysees?
 

I would like recommendation on a nice 4 star hotel in the champs elysees area for not more than $170. Also, it would be prefferable if they had connecting rooms since we are a family of 5.

What you're requesting doesn't exist.

The Marriott is on the Champs.....it is a four star hotel, but unless you can find a way to get a deep discount, it will cost considerably more than $170.

I don't think such an animal exists. But why do you want to stay on/near the Champs Elysées? It's just a big huge, traffic-clogged avenue with stores lining it - hardly one of Paris's most charming spots. Sure, it's good for a quick stroll and a nice boast, but it's simply not one of the most interesting places to be lodged while in Paris. For $170, you could find lovely rooms in any number of places in the 7me, 6me, 5me, or elsewhere that would be more convenient to most of the sites of Paris and more authentically Parisian, too.

I concur with St. Cirq's comments. I have stayed nearby the Champs Elysees and I recently stayed in the St. Germain/Latin Qtr. area (6th &amp; 5th districts respectively). I prefer the latter much more. There is no charm in the Champs Elysees are (the 17th dist.). <BR><BR>Also connecting rooms are not that common in Paris. The large chain hotels may have them but the small but charming hotels most times don't have.

The first time I went to Paris I wanted to stay near Champs Elysees. I hadn't done a whole lot of homework, but just assumed that famous area was where I wanted to stay. Every trip since that time (maybe 10 or 12 now?) I have stayed on the Left Bank, either 5th or 6th and wouldn't stay near the Champs Elysees again.

Champs Elysees--famous and utterly boring. Here is a website for Paris hotels. You can check by area and &quot;stars&quot; to perhaps find one that will suit you. I think there are some hotels with connecting rooms in that area, but not at that price. I'm not sure about this, but you might try the Best Western Regents Garden in the 17th, but near the Arc. It's a nice 3-star, and I think I've read it does have some connecting room possibilities. Even that might be more like around 250 euro for the two rooms (double and triple).

christina, have you stayed at the Regents Garden? I have. If you like heavily soiled carpets, filthy bedspreads, broken bathroom fixtures, peelng paint, you will love Regents Garden. Personally, I would pick something else.

http://parishotels-net.com/ is a good site. I used it to book a 4* hotel in the 8th (Sofitel l'Astor) WITH breakfast for about $200 per night. It was a very nice, small, quiet hotel and a 10-15 walk to the Arch de Triumphe.

It's really bad when some of these reportedly nice hotels like Regent's Garden don't maintain their properties. The websites look so nice and then when you arrive, it may be a different story. I did read that Regent's Garden was fading.
