A newbie to Europe

It is amazing reading all this expertise on traveling in Europe. I would love some suggetions!

Februrary will be my first trip to Europe. I will be arriving in Paris, and staying there two nights with my sister and her fiance.

Except for a night in Amsterdam, I have no other concrete travel destinations.

I'm the kind of person who loves cities, nightlife, and partying. I will be by myself (male, 34 years old. LA and SF are my two favorite places state side. Knowing that, what cities and places should I go?

Thanks!

If you're into nightlife and partying, it's hard to beat Madrid, where dinner is eaten at 10:30, barhopping begins about midnight, intense clubbing gets going around 1 or 2, and people go home to sleep around 7 a.m.
Barcelona is another awesome party town. Seems like Amsterdam, Paris, London and Berlin would suit you, also.

any major city in europe would suit your lifestyle...you will be disappointed with only 2 days in paris...
you do not say how long you will be there...if it is one or two weeks then i would concentrate on cities that are near to each other....like paris, brussels (not to be overlooked), amsterdam and maybe frankfurt...this way you spend you time in the clubs not on the train...

How long is your trip? IMO 2 nights in Paris and one in Amsterdam isnt a good idea. You wont have a clue anything about those places. Stay longer and get to know a few places instead of going to many places for only a night or 2.

Thanks for the replys folks. It will only be a nine day trip. Paris and Amsterdam are musts. Brussels I will now make plans to stay at least a night. I know I won't be able to get as far as Spain.
Would love more suggestions.

Brussels could be skipped with no major loss.
