A Must Read Book! Takes place in Paris and Hungary

I have recently finished a book that I am telling everyone I know that they MUST read. Why this book was not on the NYTimes best seller list is a mystery to me. The story begins in Paris and ends in Hungary, starting in 1938 and continuing through the war years. It is haunting and beautifully written.

The name of the book is The Invisible Bridge by Julie Orringer. If you love to read historical novels, this book is for you. It is one that you will not forget about for a long, long time.

Will check it out. Always looking for great reads!

Finishing "Neither Here Nor There" by Bill Bryson...funny, all about travels in Europe.

I just read the New York Times review of May, 2010 - and they seem to agree with you, Kansas.

Thanks for the tip.

I just rested the link I copied and it doesn't work. Sorry. Can't figure it out on iPad. But if you just google the name of the book, you'll surely get to the review.

Denisea and Taconic, I am glad you saw my recommendation. Having been to Paris so recently, you will be immediately taken with this story. Please come back and tell me what you thought of this book after you read it. It is one of the best books I have ever read.

Kiddo, I notice you are planning on a trip to the Dordogne next September. I was there last September. You can click on my name to find my trip report. I hope you do read this book, too!
