A Little Dordogne Eye Candy

Photos from my recent two-week trip to France are now up on http://www.ofoto.com/I.jsp?c=czqjvff...&y=-dimh7p

These are just some shots from the Dordogne. Provence will be in a separate album once I find the time to upload.

I'm no photographer, but the scenery kind of speaks for itself, no?

Lovely. I could see myself in Montignac (spelling?)... and just sort of nestle in ... if I could have a view of that water and those skies.

thanks for sharing!!! Please let us know when you post Provence!

Frankly, StCirq, I'm a little disappointed. When I saw "Eye Candy" I assumed it would be a few fetching pictures of you!

StCirq Oct 12th, 2004 01:39 PM

Sorry to disappoint, degas. I'll be in the Provence album, so just hang in there :)

Hi StCirq,

Well, you used to tempt me to venture out of my Swiss rut with your descriptions of the Dordogne, but now you've really done it!! It looks fabulous! Inviting and relaxing and lush. Thanks so much for sharing!!

Now . . . when CAN I fit it into my schedule????

Eye candy indeed! I can't wait to get back to this region.
Thanks for sharing with us!

Very lovely StCirq! I am enchanted. Looks like a "doodeyhead" (my pet traveling name) kind of place! On my VERY short to do list ;-).

What a beautiful place! Thanks so much for sharing your photos. I especially liked the last one of the picnic...it was the perfect visual to go with some of your stories from earlier in the summer. :)

StCirq, I am always happy to see your lovely photos (and I happen to think you take great pics)!!

Beatchick Oct 13th, 2004 06:31 AM

WOW ~ Gorgeous photos! Is that last photo of the picnic in the backyard of your home? It looks so peaceful.

I like the Castlenaud photos the best, especially the ones in the historic, medieval center, most particularly the arches perspective.

Beautiful region!

"Ceci est une toiture.." No touching, no pushing and no sitting. Why is that? The roof is so low you could sit on it?

StCirq Oct 13th, 2004 11:11 AM

The roof is flush with the sidewalk. The cobblestone road up to the castle entrance is so steep that houses are built right in underneath it. So, yes, you could literally walk right off the road and onto the roof - or sit on it.
My own roof is like that, and hikers are always stopping to have picnics on the top of my house, so I loved the sign.

Thank you for the calarification.

> hikers are always stopping to have picnics on the top of my house.

That's really funny.
