A few train questions: Going from Varenna to Venice

Hi

I have been looking at train schedules on Trenitalia, and have a few questions.

I'll be going from Varenna to Venice in early May. Most connection times when we change trains in Milan are 25 minutes. Is that enough time?

Also, is there a difference as far as comfort in the different trains, EC, IC, or ES*?

Thanks,
Johanna

The trains from Varenna to Milano are regional trains with no seat reservations. At Milano, 25 minutes should be long enough but, if you're worried about the connection time, take an earlier train from Varenna, or book a later train from Milano, so that you have more time in Milano.
There is no significant difference in the comfort of the trains - it depends more on the age of the carriages which will vary. You should pick the trains that go at the times that suit you.

Thanks, Geoff.

I'll try and see if I can get an earlier train out of Varenna. Good to know there isn't a lot of difference between the trains, so I 'll go with whatever schedule is best.

I honestly feel that 25 minutes is plenty of time.

I agree. 25 minutes is enough time.
