This is the definition I got. It is NOT only about eating burgers with a knife & fork as you seem to constantly remind me:
Fran?co?phile (frngk-fl) KEY also Fran?co?phil (-fl) KEY NOUN: A person who admires France, its people, or its culture. |
Regarding Burgers in Norway. When the burger is served on a plate I use fork and knife to eat, but if I get the ready packed McDonald type I eat it with my hands. A real burger is big and has lots of filling, it would be really messy eating with your hands. I think this goes for Denmark as well.

The hamburger and fries. Laughing out loud. Had a very old fashion father. Very proper English family. He never never ate anything with his hands except sandwiches. Took him Christmas shopping, could not get into any restaurant because of crowds. There was a McDonalds and dragged him in there. The horror on his face!! And he actually went back up to the counter to request "a fork and knife so I can eat my hamburger please".
Think he thought he would get stainless, you know, low class joint, no sterling. After much confusion he was handed a plastic fork. I have never seen a more miserable person in all of my life. |
