A few Pictures from April/May Paris

Mimi (cigalechanta) requested that I post my first slideshow of pictures on a separate thread..so, that is what I am now doing...

http://w271.photobucket.com/pbwidget...e/a1d7c603.pbw

I found that by clicking on it after I posted it, that the pictures were small. If you copy the URL and enter in your browser, they are much larger. You can also pause the pictures by clicking the center spot with the right/left arrows.

I have a zillion food pictures that I did not post. I guess I could do the same with them.

Enjoy...

Joan

Wonderful photos. Every year we talk of going somewhere different in Europe but photos and trip reports like yours call us back to Paris, our favorite city.

I'd like to ask you about La Riboto. It looked lovely in your photos. Just our kind of place.

You have a very good eye, now posters won't have to go through
your long thread to see these wonderful photos.

tpayt,

Riboto's website:
http://www.riboto-de-taven.fr/anglais.htm

It has been a favorite spot of mine for many years. It is family owned Christine and husband Philippe and Jean Pierre is Christine's brother. Jean Pierre is an excellent chef. They were a one star restaurant and were the first to turn in their star to Michelin..back in 2000! Michelin came to them and said it had never been done and wanted to know why? They told them that they wanted to do their own thing! Of course, we now have so many that have done this very same thing!

I have a great fondness for the Alpilles, the olive trees and the area. The air is pure, the area is very laidback and a different world from Paris! I enjoyed taking the TGV down to Avignon and picking up my car and spending a few days there. The Les Baux tourist attraction is nearby, but you don't see or hear any of the traffic. You are so near, that you can easily go there for sunset or after the tourists have gone to truly enjoy its beauty! Many fine restaurants in the area..along with Riboto..the charm of St. Remy, Maussanne etc...a very special place for me!

Enjoy....

tower,

Yes, Paris is hard to take! That's why we all enjoy it so much.

I also lost weight while there..always do!

Eat healthy, without food additives, walk a lot and live well!

I enjoy all your posts.
Your pictures are fabulous. I love the food ones :)
I have learned alot from you about Paris.
We will be there in Sept. for the 2nd time. DH 1st time.

TPAYT May 26th, 2009 01:21 PM

Thanks Joan for the Riboto website. A few years ago we stayed in Le Pontet, outside of Avignon, at Auberge de Cassagne. We were only there 4 days so we want to return to all that we missed. Maybe this will be the perfect addition to Paris this Sept.

tpayt,

I good addition to a Paris trip. Two different worlds.

I added it to my Paris month stay rather late, but did manage a 1st class upper PREM down for 37 eurors and 72.50 for return. Rented from Auto Europe and picked it up right there at TGV station. About an hour drive to Riboto. If you do it, go down to the 99 and then take the scenic 27 to Riboto. That is my way of going!

I would contact Riboto ASAP for Sept. It is a busy time.

Enjoy your planning. Let me know if you decide to go to Riboto..I will contact Christine.

Enjoy...
