Hi Patrick, any more droll comments, I love your sense of humor.

The French women must be using the same shampoo. We saw so many brilliant hues of red on our last trip we started to take pictures of them. I have a whole roll of film of women with magenta, blood-red, vermillion, and hot pink hair. Best one, though, is a middle-aged woman in Uzès, wearing a bright dark orange skirt and sweater, with matching hair....sitting at a table with a tablecloth and napkin that matched perfectly - a study in burnt sienna.

What passes for humor around here. Amazing little minds.

I see that Bobby Trendy is the same as the Bobby Brown that Frank Zappa sang about so many years ago.

Patrick, I think you are the same Patrick who helped us so much when we went to Turkey several years ago.
My question now is: We are also planning a 5-6 week trip to Italy, but have noticed recently that MOST good air fares are for a one month duration. Were you able to bypass this restriction somehow or is the air fare not that big a consideration? Thanks again for your trip reports. Ken L

Actually we used FF miles for free business class tickets. Normally I'd like to book as low a price as possible for coach and then use miles to upgrade to business class. But with American, the prices seem to jump at a two month stay, not one month. Have you checked them, easy to do on their website aa.com. Our three month stay got exhorbitant in lowest coach fare, so we used more miles for free tickets.

And yes, Ken, I remember the Turkey questions. I've lost track if we ever got a report on that trip?

My husband and I also noticed the really red thing...(if anyone saw the movie Run Lola Run..) it's THAT shade. Frankly, I love it. I have dyed red hair and don't give a flying, you know what, who knows it's dyed. The last thing I want is boring Naturalistic hair, why the heck should I spend all this money too have the same color hair I had in 3rd grade.. I say viva la difference!!! My mom wore bright orange lipstick in the'70's and had a frosted shag wig.. now THAT looked weird.

Showed your post to my husband, a non-participant on this board. He loved it because while the other three members of our family kept oohing and awhing over all the art we were seeing, he just kept saying, "Why are all these women wearing obviously dyed red hair?"

Ad nauseum. )He also toured Canada singing "Oh Canada" off-key, only the first line. Whatareyougonnado.

He, however, did not notice the crotch scatching in Italy (too busy looking at all the red hair). All the females did. We also thought it amusing in Rome that there are 100 variations on some police uniform. All these uniformed guys obviously think they are good looking; all do nothing.

Just in case one thinks this is an anti-
European sentiment, think again. All the females in this family think that Paris gendarmes, short as they may appear, are really "hot," and we think they are fabulous at their jobs. So there!
