"Grow up"--is that like "Get a life"?

Sheila Feb 29th, 2000 12:33 PM

OK So I'm a sucker.

I went and read the most recent updae referred to above and thougt I'd have alook at the famous web site. (Dr Abate gives a URL for part of his site in his verrry long posting) I clicked on the link to his home page and my monitor was taken over by not one but two foreign pages, neither of whom had the normal tool bar, so I couldn't get out again without exiting the web.

Interesting, eh?

Linda Feb 29th, 2000 03:27 PM

Oh please, Ritchie, not the FOX network. They'll have Dr. Abate marrying Dr. Laura and then where would we be? What would Dr. Suess say? Common you pranksters!! I'm not witty enuf for this.

Huh? Mar 1st, 2000 12:22 PM

I agree with the "grow-up" person. It appears that no one has asked a relevant travel question other than to quote another site and ask the usual reply sources here to trash someone. It isn't "get a life" at all. It's have some decency....answer travel questions rather than joke about others. It isn't even sarcasm.....it's sick.

Oh, c'mon you people, lighten up! If you don't like, don't read it!

I agree with the posters that we are wasting time and space being funny. Travel is a deadly serious business and is no place for humor.
I believe the Lonely Planet Forum demonstrates this admirably.

Elvira: LP just announced it's going to overhaul the Thorn Tree in a few weeks. I doubt it will help though. It's gotten so bad on the Thorn Tree that they have even started bashing the Canadians:). Regards, Walter
Walter, I believe that's a new sport that's a spin-off of ice hockey, ay?

THE DR. ABATE CHALLANGE

Everyone who reads this thread must book a room through Dr. Abate and complete their travel within the next year. Whoever has the most tragic/amusing experience wins. I see a possible book deal. How about "What's it all Abate?"

elvira Apr 20th, 2000 03:36 PM

The Scottish version:
When Abate meets Abate...

KT Apr 20th, 2000 03:54 PM

Hey, Elvira -- Is that your rye sense of humor comin' through?

intellegent Apr 21st, 2000 08:51 AM

I don't think Dr. Abate would rent a home to you....you must be smart enough to fill out his paperwork.
