A difficult question, how to get to Lourdes from Madrid or Burgos

What do you recommend to take, a train, plane, from Madrid to Lourdes, France. Or may be a combination of different ways of traveling.

If you don't mind getting to Lourdes late at night, you could fly from Madrid to Toulouse on easyJet and take a train from there.

For either Toulouse-Lourdes or Madrid-Lourdes train timetables, go to www.bahn.de.

You can fly from Madrid SP Barajas to Lourdes Tarbes Ossun Lourdes, via Orly - fares depend a lot on timing, check with www.bravofly.com or others.

Or take the train - takes forever but there are some night trains that at least allow you to put your head down and stretch out - don't know how much real sleep you'll get. Look them up at http://plannerint.b-rail.be/bin/quer...p;L=profi&.

I'm sure that there are buses once in a while, long-distance buses are very popular in Spain, and Spain being a catholic country I would think you should be able to find such a thing, but I can't see it offhand. Maybe a TA would?

Spain is mostly a catholic country (not officially though ) but I don't recall any bus to Lourdes.... when the church organizes trips, Renfe does special train routes for them, but that's only once a year.
