A Day Trip to Ischia from Sorrento for spa pamering
I'd love to do a day trip from Sorrento to Ischia for a day of spa pampering. Any suggestions on where to go. I assume you can do this at one of the spa hotels without actually staying there? Also is there an early morning ferry from Sorrento and one going back in the evening? I'd love to experience the mineral baths and maybe a massage and facial. Any idea on costs? Has anyone done this and can give firsthand info.

Go to this url and look on the left side. There is a small list of websites to hotels that offer thermal baths. In addition to those, there is one called Posseidon (I don't know if I spelled that correctly) which is easy to get to and is very large. So many hotels have thermes and most are good and not expensive. You can go to any spa without staying at the hotel. They're open to the public.

They run aliscafi 24 hours a day. Yes you can get an early morning one. The problem is you have to take one from Sorrento to Naples. Then change boats to Ischia.;sez=MOVIME This is the url that will tell you about aliscafi from Naples to Ischia. Be sure to only go from Molo Beverello in Naples and not the other ports.

Yes, we've done this many times and the costs are very 30 Euro for a facial, etc.

Barb- you can go to the baths at Sant'Angelo for all that you describe.
There are mineral baths of various temperatures, about six or seven different ones, and saunas, facials and massages. If you go after noon, you pay half price to enter (I think about 16 E )
Massage and Facials are extra. You need to book them in advance though. The seeting, in Sant'Angelo is beautiful.

Wherever you go, have a wonderful time, the air, water and fango of Ischia have magical haling powers!

Thanks for all the good information. Wish I was staying there for a few days ... maybe next trip. Might be a long day if I have to transfer in Naples.

Sorrento to Naples and Naples to Ischia are both under an hour. The aliscafi go to Ischia regularly. Sorrento to Ischia would probably take 2 to 2.5 hours. It's a beautiful trip. On the way back you could always go Ischia to Capri, have dinner there and Capri to Sorrento. The Capitan Morgan goes from Ischia to Capri. Their site is only in Italian. Their English part isn't finished yet. But the ticket people speak English.
