A day trip from Interlakan to Lake Thun to Burn.

Lake cruise to Thun from Interlakan on April 20th (Saturday) or 21st (Sunday).
Interlaken West ThS Neuhaus (Unterseen) dp 14:10 pm to Thun ThS M ar 16:20
Take train to Bern from Thun.
Visit Bern - Would like to do only the Old town,Cathedral,Clock tower and Federal building.
Take train back to Interlakan.

Notes:

1) We prefer to see Schloss Oberhofen but it's won't be open until May 15th and Schloss Spiez castle is the only option that will be open on our day of our travel i.e. Apirl 21st, 2013.

Q1) Does the boat stops at Spiez Schiffstation (15.32) to visit Schloss Spiez castle and we can hop-on the next boat at 16.32 to reach Thun ThS M at 17:20.
Q2) How much time do we need to visit Spiez castle?
Q3) From the spring 2013 timetable what does 'C' infers. According to the legend given it means 'Saturdays, Sundays and public holidays'. Is route given under C exclude or include these days. Sorry, but it is not very clear.

Q4) Options at Thun: Based on a research we have an option to take Funicular to Beatenberg and then the cable car to Niederhorn. If we happen to go here, then we will start our trip early and not at 14:10. Is it worthwhile to go here? Does many people usually visit Niederhorn?
Q5) Beatenbuch caves is not of our interest. Besides this, is there something else people usually prefer to visit at Thun.
Q6) Any other valuable advise is highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

If you want to cruise Lake Thun I would take an earlier boat from Interlaken West the landing stage is close to the station then hop on and hop off as you wish. Providing you a buy a ticket cover the whole lake ie a return to Thun. If you want to go up the Niederhorn (not my favourite mountain) then do'no combine it with the lake. I would out choice go up the Niessen from Mulennen one stop on the train from Spiez.
From what you have said half a day would be enough to see the sites in Bern, all are in walking distance of the station. Beatenberg is best reached by bus from Interlaken the No21 runs hourly between Interlaken and Thun along that shore and Beatenberg is a lot closer to Interlaken than it is to Thun.

THe castles I cannot give you any advice on people vary in the time they spend looking at exhibits

Thank you, tipsygus. As this is possibly will be our first day trip so we will keep it simple.

Lake cruise to Thun from Interlakan
Hop off to see Schloss Spiez castle and hop on to next cruise.
Interlaken West ThS Neuhaus (Unterseen) to Thun ThS M
Take train to Bern from Thun.
Vist Bern - To do only the Old town,Cathedral,Clock tower and Federal building.
Take train back to Interlakan.

Just so as to help others, I called BLS customer service and below are the answers for two of the above questions:

1) You can hop off -> Visit Castle -> Hop on to next cruise as tipsygus mentioned.
3) 'C' on schedule infers that route will only be available on Saturdays, Sundays and Public Holidays.
