Thank you, thank you!!

Could not agree with you more about Ravenna.
Great report, thanks. |
Looks like a wonderful trip. I would love to take my husband to this region someday as he is a bit hesitant about going to other parts of Italy but would love this region.

Wonderful! Dozza was new to me, so I googled and found the art on the houses:
http://nomadbiba.com/dozza-italy-murals/ I'm too lazy to see if you've been there, Flame123, but try to add Monreale near, and Cappella Palatina in Palermo for more mosaics! |
We just returned from a trip that included 3 nights in Parma. We really liked the region as well. Food was great including a memorable lunch in Hosteria Giusti in Modena, and visits to a balsamic vinegar producer and a Parmesan cheese cooperative. We had a picnic at the Castle Torrechiria and went to a wine festival on our way to the Piemonte in the medieval town of Castell'Arquato. I would return for sure.

I actually tried getting a reservation at Hosteria Giusti and they never replied to my e-mail. Then when we were already in Bologna, I got a reply but the date and time did not suit us anymore and I had decided that it was not all THAT important for us to eat there. I am sure it is a wonderful experience and one that we may still partake of, in another journey. Glad you all enjoyed my report. It was another truly magical visit to Italy - they always are !!!

Thank you for all the wonderful details. Sounds like a great vacation. We are planning our trip for October, so I will be rereading your report and taking notes!
