Leaving tomorrow for France
I know that there was a thread on this years ago, but I cannot seem to find it. We're leaving tomorrow to go to Nice for 9 days, and then Paris for 8 days. I've printed out our airplane tickets, car rental voucher, apartment contact information, and train tickets, arranged for someone to water the plants and check the house, put a hold on the mail, notified the credit card companies/banks of foreign activity, packed, and taken care of final work submittals. Whew!
I still feel like I'm missing something. There's just something nagging at the back of my mind that I can't recall. Does anyone else feel like this?

Passport.
Copies of eyeglass and medication prescriptions.
Cancel/hold newspaper.
Electronic adapters.
Family member (or other decision maker) as a contact for the person checking on the house, in case of emergency (hot water heater breaking, etc.).
I scan all my documents (passport, credit cards, ATM card) and send the files to myself and store it in my email.

Leely and Adrienne,
Passport, money, meds all packed, along with adapters and extra eyeglasses/sunglasses. I too scan all docs to a folder in my email, and already have the house covered. Since the dog died, I don't have to worry about that issue.

No. I do a last-minute passport check, make sure I have my wallet and airline tickets and passport and the keys to my house in France (which are huge!), and I'm outta here. No worries at all...I'm just going!

I check my tote at least 4 times on the way to the airport to make sure I have my passport and tickets. My guidebooks have evolved to books like Leonard Pitt's "Walk Through Lost Paris", which shows the streets pre-Haussmann. Centraleurope, your reply did give me a smile.

Actually, we're still at the airport. Got them in my money belt.</i>
It's probably too late to do/undo anything but FYI here is my Last Call http://tinyurl.com/29elmem.
