9 days spain

Hi eveyone, I and my wife in 2011 went to France Italy for 18 days had a blast..now we are planning to go to Spain for 9 days in first week of May
I was planning to stay 3 days in Madrid, 3 days in Seville and 3 days in Barcelona

If we have time in Madrid then take a half day trip to Toledo , and from Seville take a trip Cordova

does that sound doable? of if anyone can give any other suggestion would be grt..

thanks

Do you have 9 full days on the ground - or does that include the day you arrive and the day youe leave - so you really only have 7 days.

IMHO yuo are trying to do too much and skimping on everything. I would either do Mardid and Barcelona or Andalusia (Seville, Cordoba and Granada). Still limited time - but enoght to see at least a few of hte mahor sights in each place.

I would not recommend that itinerary. You will spend a day traveling between each city. I would skip Barcelona and enjoy Seville, Granada and Madrid.

9 days for 3 geographies is way too rushed. You won't have any time for daytrips and will barely get to even see the highlights of these 3 cities in 2.5 days each.

With only 9 days I'd visit Madrid and Barcelona OR Madrid and Andalucia (Sevilla & Granada) OR Barcelona & Andalucia OR only Andalucia.

Once you decide on the destinations I'd definately book flights open jaw so you don't have to backtrack.

I agree that you are trying to do too much in only 9 days. For example, in October 2010, we spent 10 days in Spain. We spent 5 days in Barcelona & didn't see everything. Then we rented a car for a 3 night/4 day roadtrip & drove up the Costa Brava, overnighted in Cadaques, then spent 2 nights in Girona, & drove through part of the Pyrenees, making quick stops in some towns along the way. You can read my trip report by clicking on my name - gives you an idea of all there is to see & do in Barcelona. If you aren't interested in going north of Barcelona like we did, then I suggest Barcelona & Madrid. From what I understand, they are two very different cities. Or divide your time the way CathyM suggests, but 3 faraway locations is too much for 9 days.
