9 days in Spain

Hi all!!

my boyfriend and I are currently planning our spring 2019 trip to Europe. We have chosen Spain as our country and are having a hard time narrowing down where exactly in Spain to go. We would be going the end of March into the first week of April, leaving Thursday night for an overnight flight, and coming back 9 days later on Sunday.
Thanks

We got a great deal on flights from Boston to Barcelona (ONLY $160USD!!!) but have not booked a return flight. We are an active couple in our early/ mid 20s who are not really into museums, but would rather walk around taking everything in and trying new foods.

My main questions are: would it be impossible to see Barcelona-Valencia-Sevilla in those 9 days? Any other recommended itineraries? Any suggestions on where to stay in these places?

Thank you so much in advance!!

Oh and one more question: anyone have any ideas about food allergies in Spain? I am proficient in Spanish and can communicate well enough to explain allergies, but am just wondering if they have any precautionary laws, like listing allergens on food products in grocery stores, or having safety protocol in restaurant kitchens??

It could be possible to do but too rushed - figure a travel day between each - Valencia is neat but I'd take a train or fly to Seville. Barcelona say for 4 nights - landing day could be one for relaxation - and 5 nights in Cordoba-Seville area would be great. Trains take about 5 hours Barcelona-Cordoba and though flying may be a bit quicker at least on train you see the Spain in between - OK rather boring IMO but still neat. For lots on trains and booking your own discounted tickets yourselves check Renfe - Spain's national railway company; www.seat61.com - BETS-European Rail Experts and www.ricksteves.com.

Or Barcelona-Valencia-Madrid

Fly open jaw into Barcelona and out of Seville or Madrid.

I went to Spain on my own for 2 weeks and I visited San Sebastian, Barcelona, Granada, and Seville. I would've taken a day trop from Seville to Cordoba but I think I was out of steam by the time I got to Seville. If you budget at least 4 days in Barcelona then you're not left with many full days for your other destinations and keep in mind the travel time. I stayed in hostels along the way because I was travelling solo and it was great because I was able to meet travel companions! I wrote a trip report with my itinerary, photos, and some costs which might help you get some ideas:

Yes try to garner more than 9 days or really 7 if you don't count coming and going. And a day between Barcelona and any other place travelling even if flying.

It would not be impossible – but it might not be your best plan. It really depends on what you want to see and experience! What draws you to those 3 cities? We can’t really provide advice without knowing something of your interests.

Experience Tenerife perhaps but not Spain - first-time traveler spending whole 9 days in international resort?

also non native English speaker, but hey if he brings some interesting facts ... "cloggy"?

Well OP asked about Barcelona-Andalusia so don't think Tenerife is what they are looking for but hey for relaxation and a nice island I guess - never been there though but no doubt is.
