Maybe the person needs some help. Couldn't you try to be nice. \

Try to get some travel books at the book store. Fodors, Frommers, Rick Steves, I personally got alot out out of ITALY FOR DUMMIES the 1st time I went. It helps people who are not very familiar (like I was).

Do the research and decide the areas that most interest you. If you are flying into Milan, decide it you want to see Milan, you may not care about it. Maybe go immediatly to Tuscany when you get there then on to Rome. Are you flying back out of Milan? If so maybe you could do Milan last so you will be back there and it will be convienent for your departure and not have a long travel back to the airport.

At any rate, only do the things you want, not what everyone tells you, you must do. Have a wonderful time.
