8 nights in Rome

Due to G.W.'s war plans, my flight to Rome on March 13 was changed...G.W. needed all the N.W. airlines planes to fly troops apparently. Anyway, that gives me 8 nights in Rome instead of the planned 7. Is this way too many?

Nope. We spent 9 days there in October. Still not enough time.

If it is important for you to travel on March 12, you may ask if Northwest Airlines will book you on a KLM flight to Amsterdam and then to North America.

We spent 2 weeks in Rome last year and that wasnt enough. Plenty of sights to see -just wander and enjoy.<BR>Isobel

And if, for some reason, you do decide you want to see something else, there are several good, easy day trips from Rome; e.g., Ostia Antica and Tivoli (Hadrian's Villa).

I may be in the minority here but I think 8 days in Rome only are too many. We were there for 5 days and I was ready to move on. I think the suggestions of seeing the surrounding area are good ones. Don't get me wrong, I loved Rome and plan to go back next year but 8 days all at once seems a little long.
