8 nights in Paris & Burgundy...where should we go?

Hello!

I'm planning a trip over Christmas to Paris & Burgundy. We've got 10 people in our group. Mostly adults with two kids (ages 10 and 15). We fly into Paris and we have 8 nights total in France. Original plan was to take the train to Burgundy, stay there for 4 nights, then come back to Paris for 4 nights before flying out. We're open to suggestions on where to go. We've been looking into Lyon, Dijon, Beaune as possible options. We don't want to be hopping around to different hotels each night. Would prefer to do 2-3 nights per hotel. For Paris, we were thinking maybe an airbnb for 4 nights in a central location. My question...do you have suggestions for which cities to hit for an 8-night stay? Do we need to rent a car? Can we Uber it between cities?

If you have only 8 nights, stick to 2 places, 4 nights in each. Lyon isn't in Burgundy, but it's certainly a lovely city. Beaune and Dijon are also great places to visit. But you need to decide this on your own - it matters very little which cities I or others here would choose. Surely you have guidebooks and maps and the internet - use them.

You're late to be getting cheap train tickets for December. I'd nail down your destinations and buy the train tickets asap. No, Uber would be a ridiculous, and horrifically expensive, way to go those distances.

Ten people. At least 2 car rentals. Go to wherever you can go from CDG by train/TGV to Burgundy and rent the car. Return it and TGV back to Paris.
I don't see how airBnB works for 10 people, and with the crackdown on rentals, I'd suggest a hotel or an aparthotel.

Last year, we took the TGV from Paris to Dijon and rented a car there and stayed in Beaune. It was a great trip, but we only spent 3 days there and it was not enough! Remember the car rental offices close for lunch. I like to travel by train the first day as it allows me to doze a little bit and that seems to help me get over jet lag easier.

You really need a car to see the area, uber wouldn't work.

Thank you so much for the replies! I really appreciate it! We'll plan to take TGV from Paris to maybe Dijon, then rent two cars from there. If we do Beaune, is it easy to do day trips from there to check out other nearby cities, or are we better off staying & exploring in Beaune? We're planning to hit some wineries, markets, a cooking class or two, and of course lots of restaurants! If you had to pick between Lyon or Beaune, what would you select? Thanks again for all the suggestions!
