I have been to London four times and I find new things to do each time. For your first trip, I would recommend The Tower of London, The London Eye, and the Changing of the Guards at Buckingham Palace. You should also stroll through Harrods Department Store. The "Tube" (underground) is very easy to navigate. I would suggest you buy Oyster passes and just explore all over London.
