7th arr. hotels-?
I guess the ghost is in the machine again...
I read this forum carefully and also perused sereval guidbooks and websites. It was hard to choose, but in the end we chose Hotel Muguet. We could have easily choosen Hotel Champ de Mar, or Hotel Derby Eiffel or... Can't really explain why.I liked the pictures on the website? I like lilies of the valley? Part of it may have been my sense that is might be a little less innundated than champ de mar. Ouija board anyone?
Steve: I stayed at the Muguet and I was very pleased. I have posted this info before...sorry if you already heard it! The location is prime. The street is a side street, sort of out of the way; at night is a very quiet residential street, just around the corner though (take a left as you exit the hotel), there are two main streets with a beautiful neighborhood and walking distance to the Eiffel Tower, Eccole Militaire, les Invalides, etc...There are two accesible Metro stations. The service
is courteous, etc.. Please let me know if you need to know more info about the hotel and/or sorroundings. Also, let me know what do tou think upon return. Have a great time!!
Maira--
Thanks! Your original posts were among the information I took into account in making our choice. And I certainly will post our experience there.
Sally [neither wes nor Steve ;)]

My wife and I just spent 10 nights at the Hotel Muguet and would recommend it to anyone. The rooms are very clean and roomy for Paris and the staff are friendly. There is even a hotel dog - Framboise - to greet you. Enjoy your stay.

The website for Hotel Muguet is: http://www.france-hotel-guide.com/h75007muguet.htm
The rate we got for early December was just under $100 USD. [I can't remember exactly as all our hotels for the tip are in that range!]
Glad to hear about Framboise!
