71 Rue Sainte-Anne, 75002 Paris France

Does anyone know anything about this area/place in Paris? A friend and I are considering renting a bare-bones apartment at this address as our "home" for our 6 days in Paris with our teenagers (ages 12 - 17). We are wondering about safety and neighborliness of the area. Accessiblity to Paris attractions are an issue also.

It´s a good loction and the building seems to be well maintained (have a look at google street view). The street may be a little noisy if the apartment is in the front of the building. Many Japanese restaurants closeby. If you want reviews on the loction look up Hotel Baudelaire Opera which is very close.

Rue Sainte-Anne near Opéra IS the well-known Japanese restaurant street, including some Korean ones, mostly inexpensive, and Japanese/Korean food stores (Juji-ya, K-Mart, Ace Mart). Juji-ya and K-Mart also have take-away Jpn/Kor food that you might like to bring back to your apt. for easy lunch/dinner (that you might not be interested if you want to stick to French food). Also heard the street used to be a gay area? I don't see a trace today though.

And I don't see any security issue there. Opera, Le Louvre, the Seine River are about 3 - 7 minutes walk.

Have personally rented apartments

in Opera close to there and the Marais ok

but might also check parisbestlodge.com

As long as you do not slip and fall

on dog poop land mines odds are great

you will do fine in that area.

A bit dodgy not bad usually can save a lot eating in.

insuremytrip.com always wise.

Palais Royal Park is near also (before Le Louvre) for a walk or a (discrete) picnicking on a bench.
