There is a bus from the front of the airport to downtown Dublin. The round trip ticket is cheaper - not sure how often it runs but is going all day.

We would get off on O'Connell Street across from our hotel which was a couple blocks from the river so I am not sure how far the bus goes before it heads back to the airport.

There is a hop on and hop off bus in Dublin.

We would get the bus on O'Connell street.

Otherwise, you could walk over by Temple Bar and enjoy that area. Just walking around Dublin was fascinating to us.

You need to be in the airport at least 2 hours beofre an international flight...is that 7 with the 2 after ot including it? If included I would not go too far just in case.

Assuming you have only a few hours I would hit Triniity to see the Book of Kells ( a crime to go to Ireland and not see it) and then walk over to Dublin caste - which is fascinating - for a brief tour.

I just got back from my first trip to Ireland, and I'd say to go over to Temple Bar or Grafton Street if you want some culture. If you're hungry, try the Queen of Tarts (my favorite meal was here!!). If you want to see something "educational", try Trinity or Dublin castle.
