7 days to travel
 

I'll be working in Florence, Italy for 2 months this summer as an intern. Once I complete the internship I have 7 days to see the rest of Europe. I am a college student so I want to party nearly all 7 days haha. My question is should I visit 5-6 different cities or 2-3 with longer stays. Take in consideration that I am leaving the 7th day out of London. I'd really like to see Prague and Amsterdam and London. Should I do two nights each or add a few cities in between?

I'm not usually for a 1-night stay in a city and quickly moving on, but in your situation it might be fun. How about looking at the train routes available between Florence and London, and plotting it out that way?

By trying to see 5 or 6 cities in 7 days you will most of your time - and a lot of money - sitting on a train and looking at scenery out the window.

I reco picking 2 places - one of them London since you have to leave from there - so you can see at least a little of the city and have time to see a little nightlife as well (rather than running for an overnight train at 8 or 9 pm).

My first trip to europe - with my boyfriend at 19 - we stopped in 8 cities - in 5 weeks - and I still missed things I wanted to see most places.

I'd pick either Amsterdam OR Berlin, and London. All three have tons of clubs/bars/pubs/galleries where you can party on. Or at very most 3 cities (Berlin/A'dam/London or A'dam/Paris/London.

If you try to do more than that you will spend more time on trains than partying.

If I were you, I would look at airfares from Florence (or BLQ or ROM or even Pisa) at www.skyscanner.com and pull up FROM those cities TO "everywhere" for the entire month of your departure to see what destinations are cheap and easy - - then narrow it down to your specific departure date.

Looking at the list of cities, think about what might be fun. Fly there, spend 3 nights, then use Skyscanner from that city to find another city with a cheap, easy connection, that sounds like fun.

Then pull up schedules from the 2nd city to London (everything is generally cheap to London - - so it's best picking cities on the front end first).

But be sure to allow at least 24 hours in London or a nearby city to connect - - you cannot afford to have a 'tight' connection to your flight home - - if you miss it, you are out of luck, so enjoy at least one more night in the UK.
