7 days in Spain, where to go?
 

Message: I may have the opportunity to take a week and meet my sister in Spain. With such a short time period, where should we try to travel in Spain? I want to visit atleast one of the major cities, and then enjoy smaller towns as well.
We are thinking June, and our interests are food, drink, art, shopping, scenery.

I can't speak from experience, but I can speak from my wish list. A week in Andalucia (Seville/Granada/COrdoba) would probably be great in June.

ANother option is splitting the time between Madrid and Barcelona, and maybe taking a daytrip or 2 to a smaller town from either of those cities. The only place in SPain I've been to is Madrid, for 3.5 days. Madrid is fairly compact and easy to cover in a few days. We also did a day trip by bus to Toledo. I'd love to explore xmore of spain some time in the future.

We just returned from 2 weeks in Spain (trip report is posted). For one week, I'd do either Sevilla (my personal favorite) with side trips to the Pueblos Blancos or Barcelona.

We went to Andalucia last fall - Granada, Sevilla and the pueblos blancos - and it was a wonderful trip. I absolutely loved Sevilla and can't wait to get back. The trip was manageable and could be done in 7 days although we were there for 9.

I would attempt some contrasts with Seville and Barcelona. I would however, check Iberia first for a cheap flight between the two.
