7 days in France- go to London for a couple of days?
My husband and I have a trip planned to Paris in May. Should we take a day or two to go to London? If so, what's the best and least expensive way to get to London?
Hi Allison! Give us some specifics, like have you been to Paris before?

If not, Paris & day trips can keep you busy for weeks...

if this is your first trip to Paris, I would stick to France. TONS of gorgeous day trips - Giverny (Monet's gardens) and Versailles are only two..

UNLESS you don't think you'll make it back to Europe again anytime soon, in which case what the heck.

how long is your trip to Paris? 1 week, 2? 3?

Eurostar would be my choice - just make sure to get your tickets at least a week or two in advance, and remember that round trip tickets on weekends tend to be the cheapest.

As others have implied, a lot depends on your past and future experiences. If you haven't been to London before and won't get another chance in the foreseeable future, then do go, and stay one or two nights. But if this isn't your only opportunity with London, then stay in France, there's plenty to do.

I usually try to talk friends out of taking short trips to London from Paris and short trips to Paris from London. These type excursions are pretty expensive and both cities easily fill a week (and much more!) w/o taking time out for the other. And in just 1.5 or 2 days you will only "check London off a list", not actually have time to see/do very much.

But - if you know FOR SURE you will never make it back again - then you can do a 2+ day trip on Eurostar. To make it worthwhile I would stay 2 nights in London. BUT that would take a lot of time from Paris, which you will likely regret.
