We are a group of 6 people traveling to courchevel & megeve in the end of march . we have never been there. most of us are not great skiiers . we just want to enjoy the natural beauty of the places. any suggestions around that region. we have vehicles on self drive.
advise / suggestions are higly appreciated. Thanks |
You may drive down to Geneva or Annecy and enjoy the spring or do winter sports and apres-ski at Megeve, Courchevel/Meribel

For Megeve, in the village 'Vieux Megeve' is a classic place for fondue. Something smarter is Flocons Village; the sister restaurant to 3 star Flocons de Sel, and much more affordable.
Les Cinq Rues is a jazz bar; great atmosphere but very expensive drinks. Caleche is also popular for drinks. On the slopes, make reservations for lunch if you want to be certain of a table. Le Face a Mont Blanc on Jaillet has a gorgeous terrace. Other excellent lunch places are L'Alpette, L'Ideal, Auberge du Cote 2000 (take the ski bus to get there). There are also plenty of places where you can just get a sandwich or pasta, no need to book those. |
Many thanks Tulips

If you are not interested in skiing, it might be better to stay in Annecy. If staying in a ski resort, and assuming that there is snow, I would bite the bullet and take lessons for at least three of the five days there. By the end you might be a little more positive about skiing. BTW, there usually are great views from the top of the mountains.

In Megeve there are plenty of people who do not ski. There are walking trails and other activities. Many mountaintop restaurants are accessible on foot.

Thanks a lot
