6 nights in Catalonia (questions + itinerary)

HI !

We (2 adlults, 2 kids of 5 and 9) will be 11 nights in Catalonia in july. 5 off them are for Barcelone so we have 6 remaining nights. We catch a flight to Porto at 9:55 am the last day. Our plan is to have the last night near Barcelona airport, so we can drop our car and catch our flight.

What do you think of that plan:

- Rent a Car in Barcelona at 9 am and go to Terragona , sleep ther (1 night)
- Go to Girona and sleep there 4 nights. From Girona we woul do daytrips (Besalu, Cadaques, Figueres)
- Last night BCN airport.

Should we stay 4 nights in Girona or it would be best to sleeps somewhere else ? Since we have a car we could sleep somewhere outside Girona more in rural region and maybe get free parking for the car.

We could also have 2 nights in Girona and 2 nights on the coast.

Any recommendation about accomodation and place we could stay are welcome !

You aren't too far from Carcassonne, France. We are taking our kids there this July. Might be further than you are hoping to drive.

It's normal to start another thread when the other one is now out of subject.

If you dont want to answers kja...Just dont. What does that kind of behavior brings you ? À sens of justice ? Of Power ?

My question is about Catalonia, the others threads are more generic threads. Is someone knows well Catalonia he would be more inclined to answer to a thread about Ctalonia than to a thread about Spain in general.

Like everyone else i'm here to seek helpful addvices, and maybe gave some, from helping people. Lookinf for all my threads, copy them, posting themééé it deserve what purpose.

In one of my thread you said ''it's the last answer you will get from me'' why do you follow me here ?

Thnaks to all the people who will help us, kja is only not one of them. Just too bad.

Actually, on Fodor's, it is NOT normal to start new threads every few days, unless one links them to one's prior threads and explains, very clearly and explicitly, why the new thread is different. Several of us have taken our time and energy to try to explain that to you.

I choose to warn my fellow Fodorites, so they can make a personal decision about how much of their personal time to devote to answering -- and re-answering -- your questions. And to help them, I will continue to note your false statements (e.g., "Ive got only two threads").

Honestly, I have tried to be responsive and to offer the best advice I can. If and when you ask a question that is different than one you already asked, I'll try to answer -- as I did on your last thread when you asked which guidebooks are best, which is a very reasonable question that you hadn't previously asked.

I don't see how it serves you to criticize me -- or anyone else who has tried to help. Just my opinion.

Again, best wishes.

Maybe it won't -- unless you use my remarks to learn how to ask for input more effectively. As I said, my intention was to help my fellow Fodorites. I've already done what I can for you. ;-)

Still here ? I will begin to think that you appreciate very much my company !

For all fodorites I have two questions

1) Is my itinerray in Catalonia good for the time we have ?

2) Should we base ourselves in Girona only, or In girona and elsewhere, or elsewhere for the whole trip ?

Thanks a lot you helpful fodors members !

Suggest more days in Barcelona itself, the one city in Spain that has grown most on me the past ten years, Barcelona has got it all for both kids and adults: http://www.barcelonaturisme.com/wv3/en/

And Barcelona is very close to the Prat de Llobregat airport, some 10 miles and a short drive, so no need to stay out at the airport

That's an idea. How much time would you deserve to Barcelona ? Any time outside Barcelona ? Where ?
