6 hours in Geneva
I will say before I post this, it amazes me that I can post something so inane and get a reliable answer within... let's say, 2 hours. the clock is starting!
ok. is it less of a hassle to return a car to Geneva airport, or train station... and if I drop the car at Geneva airport, are there lockers for your stuff or would I have to go to the train station to do so? and with only 4-6 hours to spend, what would you do and see in Geneva or would you not bother and get right on a train to Lac Luzern? thanks muchly!! |
:) I don't think it's called Lac Luzern, but something like Vierwaldersee. Just so you'll be in the know.

hmmm, my very rusty German thinks that means:
4 trees sea? not much to see there! 4 trees? forget that, I want my money back!! |
I must disclaim my post first by saying that I am NOT, nor do I wish to become a member of the Fodors "I'm Going To Correct You So You'll Know How Smart I Am" club which seems to be floursihing, particularly in certain parts of Georgia, but that's a whole other conversation.
But FYI, the lake that a lot of folks from North America call "Lake Lucerne" is locally called the Vierwaldstattersee which translated, loosely, means the "lake of the four forest cantons"...named for the cantons that were some of the original members of the Swiss Confederation. Now, back to Geneva...I was just in the airport rail station a couple weeks ago butdid not notice if there were any lockers there; I know you can store luggage at the main station. |
Singletail, thank you. I am relieved. ;-)
however, now I am thinking Zermatt instead anyway, and picking up the Glacier Express. or maybe not. we'll see how it plays out! |
