6 days - enough time?
We will be traveling to Paris for Easter. We will arrive on a Friday and depart the following Friday. Should we try to go to London also, or just stay in France? I would like to visit the outlying areas as well as Paris. Any suggestions? We've never been to France or England.

Stay in Paris--6 days is good.

I would concentrate on seeing Paris. There are a lot of things you can see and do in Paris for six days. You can always go to Versailles as a day trip outside of Paris.

Stay in Paris. If you're traveling at Easter, things will be closed for at least two days, so you're down to 4 days to begin with, really.

Hi
A week is good for just Paris. As noted, you have time for one day trip. London is its own trip. If you try to do both in one week you run the risk of enjoying neither. |
Stay in Paris. 6 days is barely enough time to see it. Also, I would wait until you've been there a few days before committing to a day trip. After 5 days in Paris you can decide whether you need another day (or twelve!) in town or you whether would like to spend your final day elsewhere. London is just as big (bigger, actually) and really requires a full week to see it.

Thanks, advice taken! Now all we need to do is book the trip. Any other suggestions are welcome. We will definately take a day trip to Versailles! I would like to get a feel for the French countyside or a resort area.

I was going to cast another vote for staying in Paris, but sounds like you've been convinced already ;-)
6 days is barely long enough for any one city (IMO). Paris has soooo many different neighborhoods and with your interest in a trip or two outside the city, that will be a full week. Plus you'll save some money, time, and aggravation by only one trip to/from airport or train station and only one hotel to deal with. |
