6 day Itinerary - Paris and other contries

Me and my friend are planning for a trip to Europe from 26th March to 1st April. We will land on 26th March at CDG(Paris). In Paris we are planning for 2 day stay.

Can anyone please suggest which other countries we can visit with Paris in 6 day Itinerary. (Exclude Germany).
Should we plan for 2 other countries or 3 other Countries with Paris?

Our budget is 1000 Euro/Person.

Thanks

Hi Rajul, not sure of your interests but i'd plan by nights (so lets assume 5).

Are you flying out of Paris, if so you have to get back there.

I'd look at two stops, if I landed at Paris and was flying out of Paris I'd immediately go on to say Amsterdam or brussels, have time there then come back for the last days

No, with such a very short amount of time you should not plan for 2 or 3 more countries. Either stay in Paris or do as bilbo suggests and take a short trip to the Netherlands or Belgium.

Stay in Paris and maybe take a day tour to Chartres.

Either the trip is about 'ticking' countries and then you can 'easily' go
- Paris
- 1 Paris -> Brussels by train, 1h 30
- 2 Brussels -> Amsterdam : 1h 30 about
- 3 Amst-Koeln : must be easy, never did it
- 4 Koeln-> Paris : Train about 3 hours.

1,2 and 4 can be done with Thalys (fast train)

If you want to see something during your trip and enjoy, stay in Paris as mentioned above. Do a one day trip as also proposed.

Mvg.

Not sure where you are coming from but I assume that the 1K euros is in addition to your airfare and that you will be staying in hostels, picknicking versus eating a lot of restaurant meals, and buying train tickets far in advance in order to get discounts.

Agree that with so little time - you actually have 5.5 days if landing 3/26 and departing 4/1 - I would just stay in Paris and perhaps do a day trip - to Chartres, Versailles, or even Strasbourg if you want to visit a place that seems a little different (due to the german influence).

If you insist on going to another country I would make it only one and would probably do Amsterdam, going there directly from landing at CDG, spending 3 nights and taking train back to Paris for the rest of the trip.

To go to 4 different countries in so few days you will spend a very large part of you trip just sitting in trains and checking in and out of hostels - rather than actually seeing/doing anything in these countries.

Note that high speed (TGV, Thalys, etc) trains can be VERY expensive unless you buy tickets far in advance - usually 90 days - but those tickets are nonrefundable so you are tying yourself to those departures.

How about London - just about 2 hours from Paris - spend 3 full days in each London and Paris if possible - Eurostar train info: www.eurostar.com.

And Amsterdam makes sense too - 3.5 hours by rail from Paris. www.thalys.com is the official site for Thalys trains.

See at least two different places not three or allow more time.

6 full days in Paris is a bit too much for the average first-time tourist IMO.

For info on trains and to learn about them to London, Paris, Amsterdam, etc check www.seat64.com; www.ricksteves.com and www.budgeteuropetravel.com.

If your budget is only €1000 (£700) you really don't have the money to be traveling all over and especially not to London. Just the train travel to London an back would eat up more than one full day of your budget. Moving costs more than staying put . . .
