Thanks, Aussie for this wonderful report. A shrewd guess tells me we have rented the gite you did in Sarlat for our upcoming trip and am happy it sounded so convenient.

shouldbewriting if you are staying at the same place as we did you will not be disappointed.
The location is excellent right in town so you can walk everywhere and it has great off street parking in the house grounds. And Sarlat is so beautiful in the evenings with all the buildings lit up although this time of year the sun will set much later than when we were there.
The market in Sarlat is wonderful lots of yummy food.
We also found that our rental was easy to get in and out of town to tour all those wonderful little villages.
Ahh brings back great memories enjoy your stay!

The owner's name is Xanthe?

Yes you are correct. It was in 2009 that we stayed there so 7 years ago.
Cant believe how fast the time has flown.
We have been back to France 3 times since then.
Different regions but all wonderful experiences.
We are going back next year. Doing some planning now.
We loved the Dordogne region you won't be disappointed. Enjoy!

What a wonderful journey you had, and so kind of you to share it with us in such evocative and informative detail! Among many other things, I thank you for introducing me to Buoux and Vaugines. :)
