520 for a Beemer for one week through Sixt?

a 3 series?

does this seem higher than it should be?

this is not a 330 mind you. maybe a 320-325.

I'll deal, but I thought I'd be able to get one a bit cheaper based on their web advertising.

Tell us more. Is the whole package including all possible insurance etc? If so maybe not so bad, but if not sounds way too high to me.

it's the whole schmiel.

I'll report back on the car in October-ish timeframe. I'm hoping it's at least a 325, they couldn't give me specifics...

Hello, love. On my trip to Germany last year I had an e series mercedes and purchased the extra insurance in spite of using a credit card that said they would cover collision. I guess I just don't trust anybody these days and it was a very nice, very fast, very expensive vehicle, so I wanted to be on the safe side. The insurance was charged immediately to the card - and separately from the rental fees. It came to ~$200 - the rental ~$400. So if you are getting the whole package for $520 I don't know if it's a deal or not, but if I were you, I'd check carefully about the insurance. Have a good trip - and it's so great driving in Germany!

Check--it may be a 318, which is quite a small car, a hatchback. I have been in a few of those and it's a tight fit for more than two adults, plus luggage.

Hi Btilke and Shanna,

Thanks for the input - I was told it would be at least a 320, the smaller one was $480 for the week. This includes insurance, too. I'll mainly be traveling alone, at least until Munich.

We paid less than $1000 per month for an Opel astra w/$500 deductable insurance thru Auto Europe

thanks Ron - I did look into other places, but this was the only place I could get a BMW/Mercedes (but then again didn't look really hard - just had a few suggestions to go to Sixt)
