50% Discount on AVE ?

hi,

the wife just mentioned that there was a 50% discount on AVE tickets if you bought them 24 hours before departure at the station provided you were flexible with the train times. she is looking for the link, ill post it when i see it.

anyone else heard of this?

This seems to be true. According to google translate from renfe web site:

Last Minute Fare is a limited promotional offer in certain high speed trains - Long Distance, which can only be purchased in 24 hours prior to departure.

You may have a reduction of up to 50% of the tariff.

Can only be purchased on this website and travel agents with online sales.

This fee does not accept cancellations or changes

hmm... i dont think we can buy these tickets with non Spanish cards can we??

are there any official travel agents we can get these through? especially in Seville?

Skinny, the word to look here is "certain". There aren´t so many tickets or trains with that offer.

You might want to look in a "El corte ingles" TA, but I think that you will probably find yourself having to buy a normal price ticket. Also, you are travelling during Feria de Abril ... so, doubtful you will get the offer.

You can purchase ( on the phone NOW) the 40% Estrella fare for MANY trains that day. 34 902 24 3402

I wouldn't wait to POSSIBLY save 10% more.

Skinny, there are still Estrella fares in many of the morning trains, only a couple in the afternoon and evening trains.

I would recommend you to follow Lin´s advice and buy your tickets now.
