5 Day Spain Excursion from Valencia
H! I will be in Valencia mid November for a 7 day retreat. I would like to explore some more of the country before returning to the US. I will have 5 days to travel and was thinking of visiting Seville and Malaga with a day trip to Ronda. its my first time in Spain. I am interested in learning the Flamingo, eating good food, beach time and shopping. Any suggestions on my itinerary would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks |
Stay in Valencia.
Great beaches, great food, lots of shopping. You will need more than a week to learn the Flamingo/Flamenco |
Beach time in November, well I guess Climate Change may allow that.
I'd look at the easy options. Those are Malaga, Grenada, Cordoba, Sevilla and Barcelona. You have such a small amount of time I'd focus on one or possibly two no more. |

Cuenca is a 50 minute train ride from Valencia.
IMO , more interesting than Ronda |
In my opinion, and yours may differ vastly, I would choose ONE destination outside Valencia...I believe there is a fast train to Barcelona, and another to Madrid....will you fly out of either one of those cities? If so, I would spend the time in the city of departure.
From Valencia to Sevilla? If you can fly there, great....again, this is my own very personal taster, but I believe Sevilla needs a bare minimum of 3 full days...less than that....save it for another trip. Please understand that my travel style is to spend more time in fewer places to get even vague idea of the city's feel. I think I spent about 9 days in Sevilla on my last trip and I had been there a number of times before. Alternative idea: If you are interested in food, while all area of Spain are prime, you could visit San Sebastian, easy to walk around, no taxis needed, gorgeous beach promenade, lots of English speakers, just ann all around wonderful place. Again, I stay about a week when I go but you could have a great time if you can get a flight from Valencia and then home. (where is that??) from SS or Bilbao. |
